Divers planning scuba diving holidays to British Columbia in Canada will be able to take advantage of the new Wreck Trek PASSPORT Programme. The 24-page booklet allows visitors to track their dives as they visit the variety of wrecks that are scattered throughout the region as well as giving them the chance to win prizes.

Divers who are planning to visit British Columbia (BC) in Canada can now get hold of the Wreck Trek PASSPORT Programme which highlights the region's wrecks.

Underwater enthusiasts visiting BC will be able to track their dives using the 24-hour souvenir booklet as well as learn about the historic sites and artificial reefs both on the coast and inland.

Once divers complete a featured dive, their booklet will be stamped by an official sponsor. When all of the pages have been stamped, divers will receive a Wreck Trek T-Shirt and they will be eligible to enter one of the Wreck Trek prize draws which offers prizes from diving gear and training courses, to scuba diving adventures and trips.

During scuba diving holidays, divers will be able to explore wrecks such as McKenzie, GB Church, Boeing 737, Cape Breton, Saskatchewan, SS Capilano, Columbia, MV Gulfstream, Chaudière, and Annapolis (pending).

The Wreck Trek PASSPORT is supported by dive stores and dive charters throughout BC and it can be picked up free of charge from any participating stores and charter companies, or online at www.diveindustrybc.com.

British Columbia is one of the best scuba diving destinations in North America because of its clear waters that are teeming with healthy marine species. There is a plethora of marine life to enjoy as well as a wide selection of diving sites to explore including artificial reefs, submerged vessels, sunken paddle wheeler wrecks, caves and walls.

With 22,000 kilometres of shoreline, BC's waters are brimming with colour and variety. Popular sites for scuba diving trips include the Pacific Undersea Gardens in Victoria; the waters off Nanaimo which are full of historic sunken ships and aircraft; Saanich Inlet, home to the giant sponge; and Race Rocks Ecological Reserve where divers share the waters with curious sea lions and harbour seals.

Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, is ranked at the top by many divers because its waters are full of lush and diverse ecology. The Browning Wall is one of the most popular diving sites, boasting a variety of colourful, cold-water marine life.
