A group of disabled U.S. military veterans took part in a special diving programme last month at the Dolphin Dive Centre in Sacramento, California. The 25 veterans had the chance to enjoy scuba diving adventures for the first time and they were taught how to breathe underwater despite their physical challenges with the help of the Oceanic scuba equipment company.

The Dolphin Dive Centre in Sacramento, California hosted a special diving programme last month which helped introduce 25 disabled U.S military veterans into the world of scuba diving.

The veterans had the chance to enjoy scuba diving adventures with the help of the diving instructor William Homan and the Oceanic scuba equipment company,

Each of the divers had different physical challenges but they were all able to try breathing underwater at the Dolphin Dive Centre.
The owner of the dive centre, Mike Johnson, commented: “The look on their faces was out of this world. The fun and energy that was expressed when each soldier got out of the water was priceless.”

Oceanic Worldwide specialises in the sales of scuba diving equipment and the company is dedicated to helping raise money so U.S military veterans can learn how to dive and go on to enjoy scuba diving holidays all over the world.

Earlier this year, Oceanic launched a “USA Line” of products in red, white and blue to help raise money for veterans. The 25 soldiers had the chance to use these special products during their scuba diving adventures at Dolphin Dive Centre.

Oceanic’s products are sold through international distributors in many countries across the globe including 600 dive outlets in the United States, and affiliate companies in England, Italy, Germany Australia, Japan and Singapore.

The company has a popular iPhone App and offers many online training programmes that enable divers to make the most out of their gadgets during scuba diving trips.

Scuba diving is a great sport for people of all ages and all abilities. Over recent years, the underwater sport has become one of the most popular activities to enjoy during a holiday.

Fantastic scuba diving destinations include Australia’s Great Barrier Reef; Red Sea resorts such as Sharm el Sheik and Hurghada in Egypt; Caribbean islands including the Cayman Islands, Curacao, and Bonaire; Indian Ocean islands of the Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles; and the Florida Keys and Florida National Marine Sanctuary in the United States.

The sport is great for disabled people and special programmes allow them to learn how to scuba dive while regaining their mobility and confidence in a fun way.
