Ocean Care Solutions, a company that specialises in the development and sales of marine sting first aid kits, has announced that it will be donating a share of its online profits and providing products to the disabled veterans scuba diving charity, SUDS.

The non-profit charitable organisation Soldiers Undertaking Disabled SCUBA (SUDS) will be receiving a welcome boost in funds this year as Ocean Care Solutions announces that it will be donating a percentage of its online profits to the charity.

The company specialises in developing and selling marine sting first aid kits and jellyfish sting relief spray that are used by scuba diving enthusiasts.

The President of Ocean Care Solutions, Kevin Freeman, is one of these avid scuba diving enthusiasts and he is keen to support the worthy organisation that helps disabled veterans find a new lease of life through scuba diving adventures.

Freeman explained: "My family has always supported our veterans in some form or another over the years since my brother first served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam in 1967-68. He spent 23 years in the service and retired as a Sergeant Major, U.N.

Command, 8th Army, Seoul, Korea so veteran's affairs became a way of life for our family. I can think of no better way for our company to show our appreciation to disabled vets than to support such an incredible organisation like SUDS."

Based at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre in Bethesda, Maryland in the United States, SUDS helps injured service members who are returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and trains them to become scuba divers. The underwater training helps towards the rehabilitation process and also gives the soldiers a sense of accomplishment as they undergo new challenges.

SUDS was established in 2007 and its mission statement reads: "Our participants can accomplish extraordinary things regardless of their disabilities and the SUDS program gives them an opportunity to prove it to themselves."

"Our plan is pretty simple," Freeman said. "We will donate $1 from the online sale of any of our fine marine sting products this year while providing the organisation with the product they need.

“We hope to expand this program for years and eventually to retailers but for now, anything we sell from our site, we will be honoured to donate to this worthy cause."

Scuba diving can help transform the lives of injured and disabled people and it is becoming an increasing popular sport thanks to the support of global charities.

After receiving training from professional instructors, disabled divers can go on to enjoy scuba diving holidays across the world.
Favourite exotic scuba diving destinations include Red Sea resorts in Egypt such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada; Caribbean islands including Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and Bonaire; the Maldives and the Seychelles; Australia’s Great Barrier Reef; and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in the U.S.
