Sandals Resorts International has become one of the five leading companies in the world for scuba diving after it recently reached 50,000 diving certifications. As well as having diving resorts in stunning tropical destinations, the properties offer state-of-the-art facilities and equipment which enhances the visitor's experience.

The Caribbean hotel group, Sandals Resorts International, is celebrating after it became one of the world's leading companies for scuba diving.

The hotel group recently reached 50,000 scuba diving certifications, making it one of the top five companies in the world for the underwater sport.

The award was given to Sandals Resorts by the world's leading scuba diving association, PADI Worldwide.

"There are so many reasons why our guests choose a Sandals or Beaches Resort and there is certainly no mistaking their choice of our resorts when diving is one of the deciding factors. Safety, world-class customer service and the best Caribbean dive sites all matter to our ever growing diving clientele. Having world class partnerships such as we do with PADI is also a major part of our business," explained Adam Stewart, the Chief Executive Officer of Sandals Resorts International.

As well as providing all-inclusive scuba diving resorts in tropical destinations all over the Caribbean, Sandals Resorts also offers visitors modern facilities and equipment such as custom-made Newton boats and Nitrox and ScubaPro equipment.

"At Sandals and Beaches Resorts, our guests get the best of everything and scuba is no different. This is a PADI Five Star operation that offers 510 different dive sites from wreck and wall diving to night and shark dives and all with the highest safety record around. The best part is that, for accredited divers, it's all included!" added Mr Stewart.

The hotel group has 24 luxury Caribbean resorts in seven countries, as well as a fleet of 270 motorised and non-motorised boats, customised deep-dive freshwater training pools, and its own marine division that maintains and services all of its diving equipment and vessels.

Holidaymakers can choose from a wide selection of diving courses from both DAN and PADI.

While scuba diving in the Caribbean, divers can swim alongside spectacular marine species including sea turtles, eagle rays, sea horses, whale sharks, dolphins, manta rays and colourful tropical fish.

Popular scuba diving destinations in the region include Bonaire, Curacao, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, and Grenada.
