Red Sea Waterworld - Sharm el Sheikh

At the Hyatt Regency, one of Sharms' premier hotels, the Red Sea Waterworld dive centre and dive school is on the beach, and you have the choice here of shore diving from the jetty or beach on one of Sharms' most popular local reefs, Middle Garden, or joining the day boats in Naama Bay to visit the offshore attractions of Tiran and Ras Mohammed.

Either way, you will be in safe hands, as the quality standards set are maintained throughout the whole business. Learning to dive here is just as simple – from the pool sessions to the first open water dives, and theory taking place in air conditioned classrooms, they have it covered.

House reef diving is offered on a guided basis twice a day, with the option of a night dive subject to demand, or you can buddy up with someone, undertake an orientation dive with a guide, and then come and go as you please. If you are joining the day boats, private transport will be provided straight to the jetty and back, and your kit will be taken care of too – it will be waiting for you on the boat when you arrive! How much more civilised can things get?!

The house reef, Middle Garden, is a popular reef for the day boats, and there are many reasons. 8 metres to the sea bed at the shallowest point, and dropping off to way over 50 metres going away from shore gives a tremendous variety of routes to take.

Stunning corals, glass fish stacks, a plethora of marine life everywhere you look, and a regular haunt of Eagle rays, Manta Rays and even whale sharks at certain times of the year (late spring/early summer), complete with an eel garden, crystal clear waters and the civilised jetty and beach access make this one of the best shore dives there is in Sharm!

Our personal recommendation? Dive here, and keep diving here. Try and schedule a dive for the late afternoon – it is feeding time on the reef, and schools of fusilier fish surround you in massive numbers, only to be penetrated by hunting jacks, barracuda and even tuna – a stunning dive!
