Brisas Guardalavaca Overview
A large All-Inclusive resort with extensive grounds and a lovely portion of beach at the bottom of the garden, the welcoming Brisas Guardalavaca is an good choice for a relaxing break in Cuba's eastern province of Holguin.
Offering guests with direct access to a fabulous beach, this hotel has clinched a great spot in the famed Guardalavaca beach resort, known for its tranquility and isolation. What’s more, the Brisas resort itself is surrounded by palm-filled gardens, giving it a real away-from-it-all vibe.
Snaking through the grounds there are two large pools which both have shaded, swim-up bars for in-water cocktails. And for splashing fun for the little ones, you’ll find splash pools for children at both, too. They’re framed by spacious sun terraces, with loungers spilling out onto the grass.
As for the accommodation itself, bedrooms at this 4-star resort are simply decorated with neutral-coloured cream walls, tiled floors and heavy mahogany furniture. Air-conditioning, satellite TVs and mini-fridges come as standard while if looking for a bit more sophistication guests can also upgrade to a villa-style room. They’re housed in three-storey red-brick buildings and have a distinctly Mediterranean flavour. They’re spacious too, and the terracotta-tiled floors and carved-wood furniture stand out against whitewashed walls.
When it comes to the dining and wining part, the resort features two buffet restaurants serving dishes from across the globe. You’ll also find two a la carte eateries. Twizzle spaghetti over at the Italian, while at the other it’s all about freshly-caught seafood. If you get peckish outside of normal mealtimes, you can head to the snack bar, which is open round the clock, and does a mean line in made-to-order pizzas in the afternoon.
The beach itself offers amazing opportunities for fun water sports and great scuba diving. Scuba diving excursions can be arranged at Guardalaca's PADI certified diving centre, where lessons are also offered to beginners.
In terms of what else is on offer, there are activities for all ages. Younger guests are taken care of with an under 12s club, plus there’s a long list of watersports including snorkelling and sailing. And for something a bit different, there’s a craft market about a 15-minute walk away – along with a few bars and cafes ideal for a post-shopping break.
